Fishing Reports Online - Saltwater, Freshwater, Inshore, Offshore

Author: Michael Grimm

To be a successful fishing captain and fishing guide, you have to post fishing reports where your clients and potential clients can read them. A log and/or captains journal is a very good way to Reel in clients, no pun intended.

Whether you are reporting on saltwater offshore, saltwater inshore, or freshwater, a quality fishing report helps build customer confidence. We recommend you try to create your fishing reports at least once per month, but studies have shown that by posting weekly reports, business can see dramatic increases.

You can post your fishing report on articles websites, your own website, and even fishing forums. At the end of your quality fishing report, you should include a direct link to your site, along with phone number and email address. Most users will check out your website and read previous reports to see your recent catches.

From bass fishing to marlin fishing, your users want to hear what you are catching. Having a solid journal of a couple of years of reports, allows for users to check prior years, to see what is biting at that time period. For example, if we are looking to book a fishing guide in May 2006, we will most likely take a look at May 2005 reports to see what we can expect to catch.

Fishing trends and statistics are usually carried over to the next year, but you as a captain, will be the best source for this information.

Bottom line, post, post, and post fishing reports online. It is free advertising for your business, and helps build customer confidence.

Always use spell check in your word processing program. Bad spelling gives off a poor and amateur image of your business.

Good Luck and Tight Lines
